6 Important Things to Keep in Mind Before Buying a Wireless Headset

The wireless headsets are becoming increasingly popular because of the improved wireless technology and comfort they provide against those that carry the cable. You may have already analysed its advantages and disadvantages and you have decided that you need a wireless, but you may lose among the innumerable variety that exists. We tell you 6 things to keep in mind before buying a wireless headset

6 Important Things to Keep in Mind Before Buying a Wireless Headset

It is always important to know about the product before buying. Here, we will explain you about the main things that we have to consider before buying a Wireless headset. Scroll down to read.

1. Types of wireless connection

There are three types of wireless headphones, which can be divided into two categories: those that require a separate transmitter and those that do not.

In the first category, we find the headphones by infrared and the radio frequency. The infrared wireless connection is the best option for connecting to the TV, but an unobstructed line of sight is required between the headphones and the transmitter, which means there are limits both in the distance and the angle at which they can be used.

Radio frequency is more powerful. Wireless headphones that use radio frequencies can operate at distances up to 45 meters, and the signal can pass through the walls, so they can be used for a stereo or TV.

And coming to Bluetooth technology it is your choice. If you want headphones without a transmitter then it is the best choice for the general use. Make sure that the device (mobile or tablet) you use also have this technology. Bluetooth has a range of about 10 meters. Pretty good.

2. Bluetooth and sound quality

The biggest argument against the use of Bluetooth headsets is that they offer poor sound quality. This was because Bluetooth was not originally intended for streaming high-quality music.

The first versions of the Bluetooth standard compressed the audio a lot, producing a very high digital sound. With the increasing demand for these headphones, they began to pay more attention to improving the sound. The Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) was introduced to enable high-quality stereo audio transmission through the SBC codec, achieving exceptional quality.

In addition, other enhancements have been incorporated into the Bluetooth 3.0 and 4.0 versions, thanks to the introduction of the aptX codec, which promises performance just like a CD. Manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Motorola and HTC include aptX on their devices.

Another problem with Bluetooth headsets is latency, that is, the delay between the audio signal that goes into the headset and the time when you can hear your music. You will not notice this defect if you are listening to music, but if you are watching a video the sound may be slightly out of sync. Latency varies depending on hardware and software configurations. Bluetooth 4.0 has low latency, so you get better results than with previous versions.

3. NFC technology

Wireless headphones are easy to set up. You need to pair them with the audio device and this is usually done through the Bluetooth software built into the device. You will have to enter a password during installation.

Some headphones are also compatible with NFC technology that allows devices to communicate simply by being very close to each other. This can reduce the need to enter an access code for the initial configuration, and also speeds up the process of reconnecting the devices.

4. The battery

Wireless headphones require their own power source in the form of a built-in rechargeable battery or standard disposable batteries. In headphones that require a wireless transmitter, the transmitter often functions as a charger.

5. Size and shape

The wireless headphones can be found in three styles: ‘over-ear’, ‘on-ear’ and ‘in-ear’. The first two are very similar to their cable counterparts. In-ear, they tend to be a bit different. The smaller the battery life, the shorter the battery life.

6. The Remote Control

Many wired headsets have a series of buttons on the cable that is used to start, stop and skip song or answer calls thanks to a small built-in microphone.

Logically, the wireless headset does not have this option, although we will find some basic controls along with the microphone. The accessibility of these controls is something that should always be checked when buying the handset.

These are the 6 main things that need to be considered before buying a wireless headset. We should never always see the reviews of the other people when buying according to your needs. Firstly see whether that product meets your requirement or not and then take the reviews of the people.
