Unsubscribe From All Email Subscriptions in 1 minute & Reduce Spam

If you do not have too many subscriptions to mailing lists, this option is the one that suits you, even if it is not an automated solution. Since 2003, all companies are required by law to include in their communications by email a link that allows you to unsubscribe. You will usually find this link at the bottom of the message with the text  Unsubscribe or something similar.

When you locate the link to cancel your subscription, click on it to continue and follow the instructions offered by the web.  In some the download is done automatically, in others you have to indicate the reason why you want to stop receiving emails, and other times you must configure contact preferences (for example in social networks). In the following image, you can see an example of the low link in a Linked email.

Use the functions of your mail service

Some services and email clients also have tools that make it easier for you to unsubscribe from their newsletters. For example, in the case of Gmail, you don’t need to waste the time locating the link to cancel the subscription, the service identifies commercial messages and shows you next to the sender’s address a button called  Cancel subscription. If you click on this option, the system will unsubscribe you from the distribution list so that you do not receive further communications.

If you use another service or email client when you open a newsletter look at the available options to see if they also offer you a similar tool. For example, the Outlook mail client also has a button to unsubscribe from distribution lists.

Unsubscribe with Unroll.me

If you are subscribed to a multitude of distribution lists that saturate your inbox,  the fastest solution for you is to use a third-party service that allows you to unsubscribe from all of them quickly. Thanks to this, you can avoid wasting time cancelling subscriptions one by one manually.

Unroll.me is the most veteran and popular tool to carry out this task. However,  before using it you have to know that the application has been involved in a controversy recently since it came to light that Slice Technology, the company to which it belongs, sells Uber the information that it deleted to allow this service to be free. Now,  the firm exposes on the web page what its financing system consists of and what type of data it handles so that the user has it clear.

Having said that, if you agree with the treatment of the information that Unroll.me does, to use it enter the web, click on the Get Starter now button and choose the mail provider you use. You can use it with Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, AOL or another custom by entering it manually. In the next step, accept the terms and conditions and give the tool permission to access your mail.

Next, the system will show you in the  Inbox and New tabs a list with the senders that send you newsletters. Canceling a subscription is as simple as clicking on the Unsubscribe button. All the accounts you unsubscribe from will be saved in the Unsubscribed tab so you can monitor them.

Use Unsubscriber

Unsubscriber is another third-party service that allows you to cancel all email subscriptions that collapse your inbox. It works in a very similar way to Unroll.me, and since it is also a free service,  its financing system is similar to the previous case: they use data from commercial emails to know the behaviour of the consumer and share information with third parties. Therefore, keep this in mind before using the application.

To begin, enter the service page, select your email provider, read and accept the terms of use and privacy policy, and then allow the application to access your email account. Once this is done,  in your mailbox you will find a new folder called  Unsubscribe  (it may take a few minutes or a few hours to appear).

To unsubscribe from distribution lists, all you have to do is send the emails that do not interest you to this folder, and the system will cancel the subscription.

Use a Google script

If you do not end up trusting services like Unroll.me or Unsubscriber, in case your provider is Gmail you also have another possibility to cancel your email subscriptions in an automated way: use a Google script.

This system has been developed by Amit Agarwal, an engineer and blogger, who has shared it with the community for free. Using this method is a bit more laborious than third-party applications, but this way you make sure that nobody uses the data of the messages you receive.

To begin, click here and make a copy of the document shared by Agarwal. It is a Google spreadsheet that contains the script that will be executed to cancel the subscriptions so that you can be sure that your information will not be stored.

Then, click on the Gmail Unsubscriber option that you will see in the top menu, select the Configure option and accept the permissions so that the script has access to the administration of your mail.

Once done, go to your Gmail inbox and create a tag called  Unsubscribe to mark all the messages you want to unsubscribe. After 10 to 15 minutes, you will automatically unsubscribe from this distribution list, and the information you delete will be saved in your document in Google Drive so you can review and modify what you need.
